Question
Starting in cPanel version 134, the Site Publisher Tool has been deprecated. Is it possible to access and edit Site Publisher website content after that deprecation?
Answer
After the tool is deprecated, any sites created with Site Publisher will continue to function as-is. Since Site Publisher never supported editing existing websites, only recreating them, the recommended approach would be to recreate existing websites in Sitejet instead. To start this process, please follow these steps:
- Log in to cPanel.
-
Go to Tools > Domains > Site Publisher
Note: After deprecation, the Site Publisher icon will only be shown for cPanel users who have at least one Site Publisher website already. In other cases, navigate to Tools > Domains > Sitejet.
- Click Try Sitejet
-
Each template from Site Publisher has been recreated in Sitejet. As such, you can select the same template, any other modern theme of your choice, or even create a website with AI.

Access the information from your current Site Publisher website in a Web Browser or through a file manager so you can more easily copy or add it to the new site:
-
JSON files with text information for each Site Publisher website of a cPanel user may be found at
/home/$username/site_publisher/configurationsdirectory -
Images are available at
/home/$username/public_html/assets/imagefor the main domain and at/home/$username/public_html/example.com/assets/imagefor additional domains

Warning: Publishing the website in Sitejet will erase the previous Site Publisher website. Make sure you copied all important data from the Site publisher website first, before publishing the new site.
