cPanel Server Information displays chkservd error after reboot Print

  • 0

Symptoms

For a short time after rebooting the server, the Server Information page in cPanel will display the error “Error: The system failed to create the file “/var/run/chkservd/apache_php_fpm.lock” (as EUID: 1001, EGID: 1003 1003) because of the following error: No such file or directory.”

Description

The cPanel software is checking the status of these services by referencing the chkservd status files in /var/run/chkservd. Since the server was just rebooted, chkservd has not performed a status check yet, so these files are not present.

We've opened an internal case for our development team to investigate this further. For reference, the case number is CPANEL-47878. Follow this article to receive an email notification when a solution is published in the product.

Workaround

Once chkservd performs a service check, the error will disappear.
