Symptoms
After the cPanel update, the Dovecot "Mailserver Configuration" parameter "Allow Plaintext Authentication (from remote clients)" changed from "Yes" to "No".
Cause
This is related to the Dovecot 2.4 update in cPanel version 132.
Resolution
In cPanel v132.0.14 a fix has been released for CPANEL-50614, which updated the default value for auth_allow_cleartext to yes in order to help improve compatibility with existing client connections. This setting can be managed via the following menu if needed:
WHM Home / Service Configuration / Mailserver Configuration
