Symptoms
When changing the system default PHP version, the value for default_php_package is not updated in /etc/cpanel/ea4/ea4-metainfo.json and cPanel / Software / MultiPHP INI Editor will still display the original system default PHP version for any domain that has its PHP version set to inherit in WHM / Home / Software / MultiPHP Manager or cPanel / Software / MultiPHP Manager.
Cause
cPanel / Software / MultiPHP INI Editor should report the correct PHP version for domains set to inherit the system default PHP version when the system default PHP version is changed.
We've opened an internal case for our development team to investigate this further. For reference, the case number is CPANEL-52731 . Follow this article to receive an email notification when a solution is published in the product.
Resolution
This issue does not affect the PHP version that is used for the website or application running on affected domains. Either disregard the reported version or change domain PHP versions to the actual PHP version instead of "inherit" in WHM / Home / Software / MultiPHP Manager or cPanel / Software / MultiPHP Manager.
